First-Ever Legal Treatise On the Constitution’s Amendment Process!

Independence Institute Senior Fellow Rob Natelson has written the first legal treatise covering constitutional amendment law.

The work, published by Apis Books, focuses on the law governing how state legislatures can trigger and control a convention for proposing amendments. It is called The Law of Article V: State Initiation of Constitutional Amendments. The new book collects over two hundred years of history, amendment practice, and court decisions.

Professor Natelson is a leading constitutional authority, and currently the nation’s most published-active scholar on the the Constitution’s amendment process. He served as a law professor for 25 years at three different universities, and is now Senior Fellow in Constitutional Jurisprudence at the Independence Institute, where also he heads the Article V Information Center.
